pervasive media studio

JA | Studio Resident

JA was created to ensure opportunities exist to allow any private individual to participate in the peaceful hands on robotic exploration of space. We create, encourage, fund, manage or otherwise support a wide range of open source, open access projects to make this a reality. From making specific pieces of infrastructure available to the global community, to conceiving and executing complete on orbit missions, a JA initiative provides open source, open access to space for all in partnership with students, professionals and private individuals.

More than two dozen JA initiatives have been implemented in house or with academic and commercial partners since 2010, ranging from educational outreach programs for schools to international scientific conferences, ground station networks to spacecraft. JA is excited to be resident at the Pervasive Media Studio and looks forwards to developing innovative digital media and other hands on approaches for bringing access to space to all in partnership with other residents. http://johnson.aero/

On Friday 12 September, 2012, Michael Johnson from JA gave a lunchtime talk about Citizen Space Exploration and the Personal Space Age. If you missed it you can catch up on Hannah's blog
