Liz Milner – RELAYS project Development Co-ordinator at Watershed, based in the Pervasive Media Studio.
Liz Milner has worked with Watershed for several years as a co-ordinator, producer and facilitator on projects such as Electric December, animate +, and Bristol Stories, and is currently working on a Cultural Olympiad project which is being delivered by Watershed as part of RELAYS (Regional Education Legacy in Arts and Youth Sport, a regional Cultural Olympiad initiative by HERDA: Higher Education Regional Development Association).
The ‘RELAYS at Watershed’ project is focused on engaging young people with all kinds of play and games, alongside some intriguing media literacy workshops and film-making activities.
This summer, 2009, we’ve had a premiere screening event for schools who made films as part of the Be Active project, and welcomed around 200 pupils from Bristol schools to sport-themed media literacy workshops with BBC volunteers and writer and broadcaster David Goldblatt. In the autumn we worked with Simon Games here at the Studio to provide 3 family games for Igfest 09.
See Young People – Journal Entries for an update of ‘RELAYS at Watershed’ 2009 activity and go to the Watershed’s RELAYS website to find out more about the RELAYS project.
Liz also works with Constance Fleuriot and other Studio residents to devise projects using pervasive media with young people.
