As co-artistic directors of Stand + Stare Collective, Barney and Lucy Heywood create immersive theatre in which their audiences play an active part. They are committed to writing new stories and enjoy collaborating with a broad spectrum of artists from different disciplines to produce large-scale site-specific shows, small intimate pieces and commercial commissions.

Barney and Lucy are brother and sister and often draw influences from shared memories and family history. Barney's background is in fine art and Lucy's in play-writing.
