Vanessa Bellaar Spruijt is a researcher and project manager in the Pervasive Media Project at HP Labs and the project manager of igfest '09 (www.igfest.org.

Vanessa is also one of the pioneers and the producer of the annual mscapeFest, a two-day conference for pervasive, locative and interactive media enthusiasts, now running in its fourth year. Sign up! http://www.pmstudio.co.uk/events/wed-25112009-900am. Apart from that she acts as the liaison between third parties and running external facing pervasive media projects. Vanessa is also the device manager for external loans and tries to keep track on where the technology is deployed. Publication and ‘marketing’ collateral are designed and produced by Vanessa and she has directed most of the video blogs in the last two years. Her background is a BA (Hons) in Media Production, Still Image & Design and an MSc in Sociology from the University of Bristol.

Spare time is filled with acting for Ratupadraynpipe Productions and The Invisible Circus. Surfing, fancy dress, assisting artists with their funding applications, PR and strategy.
