In this exceptional performance, director and artist Robert Wilson invites you into his astonishing aesthetic universe. Combining hundreds of striking images from through his prolific career, Wilson provides an intimate self-portrait of his creative process.

  • Lunchtime Talk: Introduction to Plonk — a framework for audio software development

    Plonk is a new C++ framework for audio software development by Martin Robinson in the Department of Computer Science and Creative Technologies at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Plonk was designed to support teaching and research activities at the university but is being made available to the wider community using a permissive open source license.

    We are delighted to present a talk with world-renowned, multi-artform digital practitioners United Visual Artists. United Visual Artists are an art and design practice creating work at the intersection of sculpture, architecture, live performance, moving image and digital installation. Pushing the boundaries of research, software and engineering with every project, UVA’s work aims above all to be meaningful and engaging.  Join Ben Kreukniet and Laura Dennis for an introduction to UVA’s approach, discussion of recent work, and a preview of the studio’s forthcoming projects in Bristol and the South West. 

  • Lunchtime Talk: The Playable City Sprint

    This February, the British Council and iShed will bring together artists, producers and technologists from across East Asia and the UK, to develop playful ideas at the intersection art, technology, society and culture. This talk will introduce the practitioners, their experience of collaboratively developing a new work in a week and demo the interventions they have created.
